The third CARIBSAN webinar took place on March 17th with the goal to inform the technical staff of wastewater utilities in the Caribbean about treatment wetland technology.
This seminar for sanitation stakeholders in the French-speaking Caribbean was intended to introduce technical staff to the functioning of this nature-based solution for wastewater treatment.
This seminar aimed at presenting to the technical staff the functioning of this nature-based solution for wastewater treatment, a solution which can be particularly adapted to tropical islands.
Experts from the National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE) in France presented the mechanisms involved in constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment, as well as tropicalized systems for domestic wastewater treatments and the advantages and drawbacks of the technology.
The 104 participants, mostly from French-speaking islands, had the opportunity to ask the speakers many questions.
